People take religion too seriously, which, by itself, is fine by me.
Who the fuck gave them the right to tell me what *I* can or cannot do. If I wish to print cartoons in my paper with Jesus putting a big fat dildo in Mohammed's ass, isn't that *my* freedom of expression? They can very well choose not to ever buy my newspaper and universally boycott it but how can they dictate what I will print or not print.
Hell, in the US Larry Flynt published an article about a very famous preacher insinuating that he was having sex with his mother and got away with it. The supreme court ruled that satire of any public figure cannot even be considered libel.
It made perfect sense then and makes perfect sense now. Farce is farce, not supposed to be taken seriously. Any group that takes itself too seriously is destined to eventually fade away.
A repressive, violent and vengeful society can only survive so long. In the end, it will consume itself and its people, leaving the rest of the world in peace.
